Welcome to the Bolivia Train guide
The Empresa Ferroviaria Andina (FCA) runs the train network of western Bolivia. Its most famous passenger corridor links Oruro with Villazón, on the Argentine border, crossing the Altiplano via Uyuni —gateway to the salt flat— and the red canyons of Tupiza. Since 23 June 2025 a single service runs on it, the Expreso del Sur – Ferrobús, with one departure a week in each direction and stops at Oruro, Uyuni, Atocha, Tupiza and Villazón. The Wara Wara del Sur, which stopped at every village, has been suspended since 2021. Here you will find the schedule, the fares by leg, the map and a planner for your trip.

The only passenger train on the corridor since June 2025. It leaves Oruro on Monday at 21:30 and Villazón on Thursday at 14:30, stopping at Uyuni, Atocha and Tupiza. One fare per leg.
