Machacamarca Station
Machacamarca, south of Oruro, is a town with a strong railway identity: the line to Uncía branched off here, and today it is home to the Machacamarca Railway Museum, with a collection of historic railway vehicles.
It was a stop of the Wara Wara del Sur, the train that called at every station on the corridor, but that service has been suspended since 2021 and no return has been announced. There is no passenger train at Machacamarca today: the Expreso del Sur – Ferrobús, the only train running since June 2025, stops only at Oruro, Uyuni, Atocha, Tupiza and Villazón. The nearest station with a train is Oruro.
