How the fares work

Ferroviaria Andina train fares depend on the leg (the distance between your origin and destination stations) and the class you choose. There are no zones: the longer the trip, the higher the fare.

The Expreso del Sur offers Ejecutivo class (reclining, more comfortable seats) and Salón. The Wara Wara del Sur also adds the Popular class, the cheapest. The prices below are indicative: confirm the current fare at the ticket office. The dollar values are approximate (1 USD ≈ 6.96 Bs).

The classes

Ejecutivo. The most comfortable class: wide, reclining seats, heating and more space. Recommended for the long overnight trips.

Salón. Comfortable seats at a good price, the most balanced option. Available on both trains.

Popular. The cheapest class, only on the Wara Wara del Sur. Ideal for short trips between Altiplano villages.

Decide between the Expreso del Sur (fast) or the Wara Wara del Sur (every stop) depending on the day and your destination.

Online on Tickets Bolivia (card or Tigo Money) or at the station ticket office (Oruro, Uyuni, Tupiza or Villazón). In high season, in advance.

Ejecutivo for more comfort, Salón as a balanced option, or Popular (Wara Wara only) for the cheapest.
