Villazón is the southern head of the corridor and the end of the line for the Expreso del Sur – Ferrobús, which arrives from Oruro on Tuesday at 16:30 and leaves on the return run on Thursday at 14:30. It is a border town: across the international bridge lies La Quiaca (Argentina).
Many travellers use Villazón to cross into northern Argentina (Jujuy, Salta) or to start the reverse journey to Tupiza, Uyuni and Oruro. The town has busy border trade, exchange offices and bus links on both sides of the border.
